Harmukh Trip

Harmukh Valley trek is an astonishing high-elevation trail and considered as a most wonderful trek in Kashmir. Harmukh is the 4th highest peak in that valley is set with a picturesque foreground of the magnificent Gangbal lake.

Known as the Eager of Kashmir, it was from Mount Harmukh that Thomas Montgomery, an incredible trigonometric surveyor, first found K1 and K2 Mountains in 1865. The Gangbal Lake is said to be the Ganges of Shivism.

They say the mountains are made up of rock and ice, but they actually are built upon dreams and hope. The force that drags us to the summit cannot be explained until we reach the peril of each mountain

Trail Location: Central Kashmir. Lakes to be explored: Nandansar, Gangbal.

TRIVIA The Harmukh Valley Trek is an early spring trek which we have curated for adventurers looking to break early this summer. The Oligotrophic Lake Gangbal which is at a distance of 15 kms from Naranag (North of Srinagar in Ganderbal District) is home to many species

o

fish including the brown trout. The lake lies at the foothills of Mount Harmukh (the second highest peak in the vicinity of Kashmir Valley); known for its magnificence the peak stands tall at 5142mtrs (16,870 ft.). Harmukh is the mountain from which the worlds second highest peak K2 was discovered during the Great

Trigonometric Survey by Thomas Montgomerie in

1856. DIFFICULTY LEVEL: MODERATE TREK(GOOD FOR BEGINNERS)
